WHY GIFTS GO DORMANT

By Ukeme Ben

Main Text: First Epistle to Timothy 4:14

Welcome to Voice of Faith Daily.

Many believers are gifted…

but not effective.

Anointed…

but inactive.

The question is not:

❌ Do you have a gift?

✅ The question is: Why has it gone quiet?

Today we expose the destiny killers.

🔍 REALITY TRUTH #1 — NEGLECT

📖 “Neglect not the gift that is in thee…”

Neglect is the slow killer of greatness.

You don’t lose your gift overnight.

You lose it gradually.

It happens when:

You stop praying

You stop practicing

You stop growing

You keep postponing

🔥 What you don’t use, you lose strength in.

⚠️ REALITY TRUTH #2 — FEAR

📖 Second Epistle to Timothy 1:7

Fear is one of the biggest silencers of destiny.

Fear says:

“You are not ready.”

“People will judge you.”

“Wait for the perfect time.”

But hear this clearly:

🔥 Fear does not stop the call.

🔥 Fear only delays your obedience.

🚨 REALITY TRUTH #3 — COMPARISON

Comparison is destiny poison.

When you constantly watch others, you start doubting yourself.

You begin to say:

“I’m not as good as them.”

“My own is too small.”

“Who will listen to me?”

But remember:

📖 Epistle to the Romans 12:6

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace…”

Your lane is unique.

Comparison turns active people into spectators.

🧊 REALITY TRUTH #4 — COMFORT ZONE

Growth lives outside comfort.

Many gifts go dormant because people love safety more than purpose.

The servant in the talents parable said:

📖 Gospel of Matthew 25:25

“I was afraid… and hid thy talent…”

He didn’t lose it because he was wicked.

He lost it because he played safe.

🔥 Safe living kills supernatural impact.

🛠 REALITY TRUTH #5 — LACK OF DISCIPLINE

Gift is given.

Skill is developed.

📖 First Epistle to the Corinthians 9:24

Paul compared ministry to athletic training.

Without discipline:

Gift remains raw

Potential remains hidden

Impact remains small

💡 REALITY MOMENT

Ask yourself honestly:

What has God told you to start that you keep postponing?

Your next level is waiting for your next step.

🙏 PROPHETIC PRAYER

Pray with authority:

Father, in the name of Jesus,

Every power causing my gift to sleep —

🔥 catch fire now!

I break free from fear.

I break free from comparison.

I break free from spiritual laziness.

Lord, give me boldness to move.

I will not bury what You gave me.

🔥 In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

WHAT TRUE FAITH LOOK LIKE

Ben Ukeme Key Scripture “But without faith it is impossible to please Him…” — Hebrews 11:6 “The just shall live by faith.” — Habakkuk 2:4 True faith is more than words. It is more than emotion. It is more than saying, “I believe.” True faith is visible. It shows up in how we live, how we respond, and how we obey God. Let us look at what true faith really looks like. 1. TRUE FAITH OBEYS GOD COMPLETELY “By faith Abraham obeyed…” — Hebrews 11:8 Faith is not passive. It moves. Abraham did not just believe God — he acted on what God said. True faith obeys: Even when it does not understand Even when it is uncomfortable Even when it is costly Faith is trust in action. 2. TRUE FAITH TRUSTS GOD’S CHARACTER True faith believes: God is faithful God keeps His promises God is good even when life is difficult Faith says, “Even if I don’t see it yet, I trust Him.” It is confidence in who God is, not just what He can give. 3. TRUE FAITH WALKS BY THE WORD, NOT BY SIGHT “For we walk by faith, not ...
