Key Scripture
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him…” — Hebrews 11:6
“The just shall live by faith.” — Habakkuk 2:4
True faith is more than words.
It is more than emotion.
It is more than saying, “I believe.”
True faith is visible. It shows up in how we live, how we respond, and how we obey God.
Let us look at what true faith really looks like.
1. TRUE FAITH OBEYS GOD COMPLETELY
“By faith Abraham obeyed…” — Hebrews 11:8
Faith is not passive. It moves.
Abraham did not just believe God — he acted on what God said.
True faith obeys:
Even when it does not understand
Even when it is uncomfortable
Even when it is costly
Faith is trust in action.
2. TRUE FAITH TRUSTS GOD’S CHARACTER
True faith believes:
God is faithful
God keeps His promises
God is good even when life is difficult
Faith says, “Even if I don’t see it yet, I trust Him.”
It is confidence in who God is, not just what He can give.
3. TRUE FAITH WALKS BY THE WORD, NOT BY SIGHT
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
True faith is not controlled by circumstances.
When everything looks uncertain, faith stands firm.
It says: “My situation may change, but God does not change.”
Faith sees beyond the present moment.
4. TRUE FAITH PERSEVERES THROUGH TRIALS
True faith does not quit when things become hard.
It continues:
Praying
Trusting
Believing
Waiting
Faith remains steady even in storms.
5. TRUE FAITH PRODUCES HUMILITY
Faith understands that we depend on God.
It does not boast. It does not rely on human strength. It does not claim personal credit.
True faith gives all glory to God.
6. TRUE FAITH BEARS FRUIT
Faith changes behavior.
It produces obedience.
It produces love.
It produces good works.
Faith that does nothing is not living faith.
CONCLUSION
True faith:
Obeys fully
Trusts completely
Walks confidently
Endures patiently
Glorifies God
Faith is not just something we say — it is something we live.
When faith is genuine, it shapes our decisions, our actions, and our relationship with God.
