INTRODUCTION

Abraham stands in Scripture as one of the clearest portraits of what genuine faith looks like. His life proves that faith is not merely believing in God with words — it is trusting God enough to obey Him even when the outcome is uncertain.

The Bible repeatedly points to Abraham as the father of faith because his walk with God combined belief, obedience, patience, and total trust.

Scriptures: Genesis 12:1–4; Genesis 15:6; Genesis 22:1–18; Romans 4:3; Hebrews 11:8–19; James 2:21–23

Abraham’s faith teaches us that:

1. Faith hears God

2. Faith obeys God

3. Faith trusts God's timing

4. Faith surrenders what is precious

5. Faith receives God's promises

 THE CALL OF FAITH

(Faith Begins With Obedience)

Genesis 12:1 — “Get out of your country… to a land that I will show you.”

🔑The  Key Truth

Faith often begins when God asks you to move without giving full details.

Abraham was:

- 75 years old

- Comfortable in Haran

- Without a roadmap to follow

Yet the Bible says:

Hebrews 11:8 — “…he went out, not knowing where he was going.”

📌 Lessons from Abraham’s Call:

* Faith responds quickly to God

* Faith does not demand full         explanation

* Faith moves before seeing results

* Faith trusts God's direction

🎯 Real-Life Illustration:

A person feels led to start a ministry, business, or relocate. There is no guarantee, but there is inner conviction. Like Abraham, true faith steps forward when God speaks.

THE FAITH THAT BELIEVES GOD’S PROMISE

Faith Trusts What God Says

Genesis 15:5–6

God promised Abraham descendants like the stars.

🚨 The Problem of a Abraham

1. Abraham was old

2. Sarah was barren

3. Time was passing

Yet Scripture declares:

Romans 4:20–21 — “He did not waver… being fully convinced that what God had promised He was also able to perform.”

🔑 What Made Abraham’s Faith Powerful?

He believed the impossible

He focused on God's word, not circumstances

He refused to stagger in unbelief

He gave glory to God before manifestation

🎯 Daily Life Example

When a believer holds onto God’s promise of provision despite financial pressure — that is Abraham-type faith.

WHAT TRUE FAITH LOOK LIKE

Ben Ukeme Key Scripture “But without faith it is impossible to please Him…” — Hebrews 11:6 “The just shall live by faith.” — Habakkuk 2:4 True faith is more than words. It is more than emotion. It is more than saying, “I believe.” True faith is visible. It shows up in how we live, how we respond, and how we obey God. Let us look at what true faith really looks like. 1. TRUE FAITH OBEYS GOD COMPLETELY “By faith Abraham obeyed…” — Hebrews 11:8 Faith is not passive. It moves. Abraham did not just believe God — he acted on what God said. True faith obeys: Even when it does not understand Even when it is uncomfortable Even when it is costly Faith is trust in action. 2. TRUE FAITH TRUSTS GOD’S CHARACTER True faith believes: God is faithful God keeps His promises God is good even when life is difficult Faith says, “Even if I don’t see it yet, I trust Him.” It is confidence in who God is, not just what He can give. 3. TRUE FAITH WALKS BY THE WORD, NOT BY SIGHT “For we walk by faith, not ...
