Aide Reveals Reasons Plateau Governor Is Defecting to APC

Dangote Calls for Probe of NMDPRA CEO Over Alleged Economic Sabotage

  President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has called for the investigation and prosecution of the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engr.  Farouk Ahmed accused him of economic sabotage, claiming it undermines domestic refining in Nigeria.  Yesterday, at a press conference at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, Dangote accused the NMDPRA leadership of working with international traders and oil importers to prevent local refining by continuing to issue import licenses for petroleum products. ECOWAS declared state of emergency in West Africa

Dr Omar Touray, President of the ECOWAS Commission declared a state of emergency on Tuesday amid escalating violent extremism and terror, military coups d’etat, banditry, and political instability in the sub-region. Touray declared this during the 55th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Mediation and Security Council (MSC) at the Ministerial level in Abuja. He said the events of the last few weeks had shown the imperative of serious introspection on the future of democracy and the urgent need to invest in the sub-region’s security.
